Let me borrow some words from James Berardinelli, my favorite movie critic: Fast & Furious 6 is “mindless entertainment”. The plot feels like warmed-over bad James Bond. Think of the worst 007 outing and the story still holds together better than this … In Fast & Furious 6, the only thing dumber than the plot is the dialogue … Watching Fast & Furious 6, I felt like I was watching a video game that would have been more fun if I was playing.
Berardinelli also said that for him watching Fast & Furious 6 was more work than fun. I totally agree with that statement. I watched it only because of product placement. Otherwise I’d have definitely skipped it. Although I have to admit I watched the fifth installment of the Fast & Furious saga and wrote a blog post Product placement in pictures: Fast Five.
Unfortunately product placement was also in the “nothing to write home about” category: several brands, none of them particularly exposing and a lot of cars. I won’t go much in details about the cars, because some very interesting articles on that subject already exist, e.g. The cars of ‘Fast & Furious 6’ …
Here are some of the most interesting placements.
Under Armour
The Rock was wearing Under Armour T-shirt throughout the movie :)
Nokia phones
There were a few (old) Nokia phones visible
Seabrook crisps
Corona
The guys were sipping Corona beer at the barbecue party.
Conjure cognac
American rapper Ludacris, who played Tej Parker in the movie, is also a co-owner and brand ambassador for the American brand of cognac Conjure. You can see the bottle of Conjure at the aforementioned party.
Cars
As I said I won’t discuss cars, although it was interesting that the bad guys were driving Range Rovers :)

Some other movies from the ‘Product placement in pictures’ series:
Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
You forget Diet Coke.. :)
