Lana Del Rey is probably one of the hottest names in music industry at the moment. A 25-year old girl from New York has recently released her debut album Born to Die, but the hype had started in the middle of 2011. In October she released the first single Video Games which became a huge success.
The album Born to Die was released on January 27, 2012 on iTunes and will on January 31, 2012 to the markets in the whole world. In consists of 12 song and one of them is also Diet Mountain Dew. The song is not bad, but it was the title that caught my attention. It’s not really common that a brand or even a specific product (in that case a diet soda) is the title of the song.
Here’s an excerpt from the lyrics:
Baby, you’re no good for me
You’re no good for me
But baby I want you
Diet Mountain Dew, baby, New York City
Never was there ever a girl so pretty
Do you think we’ll be in love forever?
Do you think we’ll be in love?
Diet Mountain Dew, baby, New York City
Can we get it down low down and gritty?
Do you think we’ll be in love forever?
Do think we’ll be in love?
…
…
Are you thirsty? ;)
…and then there’s Coca-Cola by Brand New. Very mysterious track. The brand is in the title but nowhere in the lyrics: http://songswithabrand.name/post/7882557603/brand-new-coca-cola
